Electronic Recycling

Most businesses generate electronic waste. This includes computers and peripherals, TVs and telephones. Electronics are banned from the garbage in Minnesota because of the toxic metals they contain (lead, cadmium, chromium, etc).

Broken, unwanted, or outdated computers and other electronics are known as E-Waste or Electronic Waste. E-Waste disposed of improperly is considered as Hazardous Waste because of the materials that can harm humans and the environment.

Why would you want to recycle that computer?

  • Computer recycling diverts big, bulky equipment from incinerators and landfills
  • Protects the local water resources and the environment
  • Reduces pollution and conserves natural resources
  • Illegal to throw in garbage!!
